REVIEW : Rock Hard (Rock Kiss Book 2) by Nalini Singh
SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE : March 10, 2015
Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same
determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby
field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.
And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.
Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully
shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible.
But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls
and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has
other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.
If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.

Oh man, oh man,
oh man, I don’t think I can truly express how much I loved this book.
Charlotte and Gabriel,
or T-Rex, as he is affectionately known, gave me so many power duo feels. I’m talking
Oliver/Felicity (Arrow) and Harvey/Donna (Suits) type emotions. Like they are each others complete equal in life. Add in the cat and mouse chase and this is a
solid read.
Gabriel is so
not what I expected. I thought he was going to be the typical asshole, playboy
boss that was just anti all things love and commitment. In fact, and I hope not
too spoilery, he is a fucking GEM. Between his clear love and devotion for his
family, his hot ink, and oh dear heavens, his filthy mouth; he is a serious
force of attraction. That attraction just so happens to be aimed right at his
new assistant, Charlotte.
Charlotte Baird,
who in my head, looks and sounds like Felicity Smoak. She has brains, beauty,
and a wonderful spirit that has unfortunately, taken some brutal hits over the years.
When Gabriel enters her world she has no idea what to make of him or how to
handle his flirtatious ways. After all, according to her research, she doesn’t
fit his type of woman. What she does know, is that she feels good and safe when
he’s around. Also maybe a little wound up.
The progression
of their relationship is told so well and you feel every bit of fear and
insecurity that they face. I just loved it a lot. Very much recommended great
read.
Nice review! apt comparison with Arrow!
