WHY OH WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS?!
This book easily charts in top 5 series debuts. So many great characters and backstory. The fucking twists just SLAUGHTERED ME! There may be some spoilers since it has been awhile since original release.
Okay so first things first, you've got your almighty kingdom running Silver Bloods vs the poor ordinary Reds. Mare is no ordinary red as she quickly learns when she falls into the land of the silvers all thanks to her googoo eyes for young Prince Cal. So in order to keep her family and her secret safe, Mare is now in position to wed Cal's younger half bro, Maven.
All is going as smooth as it can until the Scarlet Guard comes blazing through, gutting them silvers.
Farley is a BAAAADDD BITCH! LOVE HER. Anywho, Mare learns that she isn't the only Red to have this special blood, there are plenty that are in hiding or killed to remain secret.

HOLY FUCK THAT WAS THE BEST TWIST! I TRULY WAS HARDCORE SHIPPING MARVEN AND THEN YOU JUST SPIT ON THAT SHIT WITH THAT TWIST. OMFG HE IS SUCH A DIIIIIICK. BTW I SUPREMELY DISLIKE CAL TOO. GIVE ME KILMARE!
That final battle was PERFECTION. GIVE ME ALL THE FIREBLAZING QUEEN MARE!
I'm desperate to get my hands on book 2 and 3 audio and OMG THE FINALE IS OUT THIS WEEK!
