REVIEW : Beyond Surrender (Beyond #9) by Kit Rocha

She’s the heart of O’Kane liquor.
For years, Nessa has been focused on work. She keeps the whiskey—and the money—flowing, and life is sweet. Sure, she’s tired of being everyone’s baby sister, and she longs for a man who can stand up to her overprotective O’Kane brothers. But she never thought she’d meet him in the middle of a war.
He’s the brains of the revolution.
War is all Ryder knows. He was raised with one goal: to ensure the sectors’ successful rebellion against Eden. His father and his mentor both died for freedom, and nothing will stop him from securing their legacies with victory. He doesn’t have time for distractions—especially beautiful, impulsive ones like Nessa.
Opposites don’t just attract, they combust. Together, Nessa and Ryder have a chance for something more than the lives they’ve always known. But this is war—deadly, bloody war—and the only way to happily-ever-after is straight through Eden.

So this was it. THE END. My heart aches. The Beyond series was such a life changer for me and I know that sounds cheesy as fuck but it really was. Kit Rocha aka Donna Herren and Bree Bridges, are some of the most personable writers on social network and they just truly love their fans. They were one of the reasons I decided to start blogging and are the reason I returned. The Beyond series was a masterpiece of emotion, action and incredible sex, oh and leather.

We close the Beyond series with Nessa and Ryder who actually tugged on my heartstrings and also gave a certain depth to other characters. One in particular being Dallas. There is a line in which Nessa makes reference to the slight silver at Dallas’ temples and it fucking hit me that these characters GREW UP ON ME. Like I never even envisioned an aging Dallas! Of course it only made him hotter tho so *boner*

The entire finale deals with the war on Eden and holy shit these are some of the craziest battle scenes I’ve ever read. Ashwin’s crazy ass pops up again and extreme hacking ISTG if felt like Russia vs USA just minus all the sex appeal.

I won’t drop any spoilers but I will say that I was hit with a solid gut punch. Unexpected move but it made the O’Kanes human in a world where I pictured them as rock stars with superpowers.

I say farewell to the O’Kanes and prepare for the future with Gideon’s Riders. I’m hoping for some crossover action.

As always I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves their smut, action and sons of anarchy fetish.

About the Beyond Series

This book is part of the Beyond series, stories set in a post-apocalyptic world where the rich and powerful have claimed ownership of the country's only self-sustaining city. Those who live within Eden's walls must abide by a strict moral code or risk exile to the brutal, lawless sectors.

Gangs and petty dictators rule the slums, but not all kings are created equal. Dallas O'Kane and his brotherhood of bootleggers are the only authority in Sector Four. Cross them at your peril. But pledge your loyalty, and you might be invited into their world of passion and power, sex and sin. Just remember: if you're an O'Kane, you're an O'Kane for life.
